How to Clean & Maintain an Epoxy Floor

The best thing about a quality epoxy or polyaspartic floor is how little it asks of you. There's no grout to scrub, no sealer to reapply every year, and nothing for stains to soak into. A few easy habits keep it glossy for the life of the coating.

Everyday Cleaning

• Dust mop or soft broom for grit and dirt — that's most of the job.
• Spills wipe right up with a paper towel; the surface is non-porous, so nothing absorbs.
• Hose or mop occasionally with warm water and a little mild dish soap or a pH-neutral floor cleaner.

For a Deeper Clean

For ground-in dirt, a soft-bristle deck brush or a microfiber mop with warm water does the trick. A foam squeegee pulls water to the door fast. You can pressure-wash a polyaspartic floor at moderate pressure if needed.

What to Avoid

• No harsh acids (like undiluted vinegar or citrus cleaners) — they can dull the finish over time.
• No abrasive pads or steel wool that scratch the topcoat.
• Wipe oil, gas, or brake fluid promptly — the coating resists them, but no reason to let them sit.

Little Habits That Help

Put felt pads under jack stands and toolboxes, use a mat under any drippy vehicle, and avoid dragging sharp metal across the floor. Do that, and a properly installed floor will stay sharp for 15+ years. If an older floor ever looks tired, a recoat brings it right back.
